Come join us the 22nd Annual Blueberry Festival - August 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th 2009.
The Brigus Blueberry Festival is an Award Winning 4 day event held in mid August. Activities include: A Royal Shag Up" - comedy dinner theatre, Steps Through Time - walking tour, Newfie night with Screech Ins, community breakfasts, dinners, and suppers.
Two day Folk Festival with well known Newfoundland talent, visits by Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador and Miss Newfoundland and Labrador, the Miss Blueberry Pageant, raffles, craft stalls, baked goods, a pie eating contest, games of chance, mooseburgers, cash bar, children's games, dances, and fireworks at the Brigus Waterfront.
In February 2005, the Brigus Blueberry Festival was selected by Travelocity.ca from more than 30,000 entries as a top insider spot in Canada.
In 2004, the Brigus Blueberry Festival was voted the #1 attraction on the Baccalieu Trail by the Board of Directors of V.I.P. Marketing Inc.
In 2001, the Brigus Blueberry Festival was selected as the winning Cultural Event for Newfoundland and Labrador in the Attractions Canada awards program.

The Historic Sites Association of Newfoundland and Labrador will host Celebrating Bartlett 2009 - a province-wide, year-long program of events and attractions featuring symposia, heritage fairs and ceremonies. Captain Robert Abram Bartlett, a native son of Brigus, was a world-renowned Arctic explorer and mariner during the first-half of the 20th century.
Special Bartlett celebrations are being planned for July 10-13 in the Town of Brigus. Events include the Arrival Ceremony for the Arctic schooner Bowdoin as she begins her 12 port Newfoundland and Labrador tour. There will be boarding and sailing opportunities in Brigus as well as a full 3 day program of entertainment, exhibits, drama and community activities.
